Legends of the Jews About the Creation of the World

The sections that follow deal with Jewish apocryphal and traditional tales about how the world was created, including the creation of the first humans, but also of other spheres and worlds. These stories bear some resemblance to Genesis, but venture much farther afield, speculating on the existence of multiple worlds, heavens and hells. It is interesting to look at these traditions, which clearly speak of other realms, and consider whether this was a primitive attempt to account for aliens and worlds with other kinds of life on them. Was this purely imaginative speculation, or was there a foundation in fact. Those who believe that the Wheel witnessed by Ezekiel was actually a UFO may consider these stories as a sort of corroboration that the ancient Jews possesses some knowledge of these worlds, now lost. -- comment Book-Lover.com
